Britax ClickTight Boulevard vs. Chicco NextFit

Britax ClickTight Boulevard vs. Chicco NextFit

Are you on the prowl for a CONVERTABLE CAR SEAT and you can't decide which one? Today I have an in-depth comparison of the Britax ClickTight Boulevard + Chicco NextFit side-by-side!

What does the Chicco NextFit have, that the Britax ClickTight Boulevard doesn't?

  • SuperCinch® Tightener: Uses force-multiplying technology to help achieve a tight and secure fit with a fraction of the effort
  • 2-Position Chest Clip: Accommodates growing children in both rear-facing and forward-facing modes.
  • Removable shoulder pads: These provide for easy cleaning.
  • Cup Holder Included

*although the Britax Boulevard ClickTight does not include a cup holder, one can be purchased.

What does the Britax Boulevard have, that the Chicco NextFit doesn't?

  • The ClickTight Installation System: Gives you a safe and easy installation when using the seat belt instead of the Latch System.
  • Impact-Absorbing Base: Compresses to reduce the rough force of a collision.
  • Impact-Absorbing Harness Pad: Absorb energy and reduce your child’s forward movement during an impact.

Both Car Seats have GREAT ratings, are easy to use, have high rear-facing limits, and feature steel frames to help manage the force of an impact! However, it is important to note a few things:

  • There is a weight limit for using your car's latch system. Review your car's safety manual for an exact limit, but for example, if your latch system's limit is 60lbs you have to factor in both the weight of the car seat and of your child. After that limit has been reached you must use the seatbelt for installation. So, although I love the NextFit for latch system use, the Boulevard is incredibly easy to use when it comes to seat belt installation.
  • Chicco's 9 recline options are hard to beat! One of the biggest issues with car seat installation is getting the correct recline. But, because cars are made by different manufacturers and designers, their seats are all different as well. That is why we love being able to have 9 recline options to get the perfect fit for your exact car. It should be noted that when in rear-facing mode your child should be at a 45 degree angle!
  • The Chicco Nextfit feels more padded in comparison to the Britax Boulevard. This could be a good or a bad thing depending on how hot your child gets or how uncomfortable they get on long car rides. In either case, assess what your child is most like and purchase accordingly.

Whichever you choose, you won't go wrong! Just remember to review features and find a store, like The Baby Cubby, that will allow you to install the car seat in your car before purchasing!
