This summer has been hard. This year has been hard. This motherhood thing has been hard. But despite the craziness of this year, and the challenges of motherhood, I still am reminded frequently of the importance of my role as a mom. I recently read this quote:
“In a child’s eyes, a mother is a goddess. She can be glorious or terrible, benevolent or filled with wrath, but she commands love either way. I am convinced that this is the greatest power in the universe.”

Boom! That hit me so hard; could I really hold that much power, by just being a mom? I think that it’s true. And more than ever, right now, I feel mamas and women alike holding up the world under our feet.
Influential women flood our lives on the daily; when we really think about it, they are everywhere we look. Inspiring us, teaching us, building us up, and letting us lean on them. I know it’s so true for me at least, and feel so dang lucky- to be surrounded by so many amazing women and friends.
It can be so easy in a world of comparison to pass along judgment, instead of empowerment. But building up women in our own circles is vital to helping us flourish. Sort of like passing along a good deed and paying it forward. Building other women up can start a chain reaction--one of the best kind.
