I’m about to compare and contrast two of our strollers that are great for most any occasion: the UPPAbaby Cruz Stroller and the Baby Jogger 2016 City Premier Single Stroller. If you find that neither of these strollers are the one for you, please check out our stroller buying guide for an extensive breakdown of a many more strollers!
UPPAbaby Cruz Stroller -Taylor (Indigo/Silver)
Baby Jogger 2016 City Premier Single Stroller - Indigo
When it comes to weight, these two strollers are almost identical. Each has a weight capacity of 50 pounds, which is a pretty good average when it comes to stroller weight limits. They both weigh about 21 pounds. The Cruz has a slightly heavier frame and a lighter seat than the Premier, but when everything is put together, these are both equally weighted. Both of these strollers feature reversible toddler seats! These are great for all children's preferences and several different occasions. They also both have large and easy-to-reach baskets for storage, and adjustable handlebars. All-wheel suspension is also found on both of these options, making for a smooth and safe ride for young ones.
Baby Jogger 2016 City Premier Stroller - Indigo
Each stroller seat is able to recline, the Cruz features a one-handed, multi-position recline, and the Premier has three distinct recline positions. Canopy’s can be found on each of these strollers. The Cruz comes with a rain shield as well as a bug shield, has an extendable SPF 50+ sunshade, and an adjustable canopy. The Premier’s adjustable extended UV50+ canopy has two magnetic peek-a-boo windows for easy peeking at babes.
When it comes to folding, both of these strollers are champs. The Cruz has a one-step fold and can be folded with, or without, the seat attached. The stroller is able to stand on its own while folded. The Premier folds with the seat attached in a one-handed, two-step fold. Both folds are simple and quick!

Baby Jogger 2016 City Premier Single Stroller - Indigo
Both of these have a large variety of accessories that are sold separately. Different accessories are available depending on the stroller. Some of my favorites include a bassinet for the Cruz and a glider board for the Premier. One great feature that the Cruz includes is a bumper bar. A bar is available to purchase separately for the Premier, but doesn’t come with the original purchase.
UPPAbaby Cruz Stroller - Gregory
Speaking of price, the Cruz comes in at $499.99 and the Premier is $429.99.
Where these two really start to differentiate is when it comes to looks and available styles. In my opinion, the Cruz is a little sleeker and less bulky looking than the Premier. The Cruz also has more of a variety of styles. The frame and seat of the Cruz are grey or black and the canopy and bumper bar have multiple color options. The Premier on the other hand has three options: teal, indigo, and a new color of black.
Choosing a favorite between these two strollers is tough because there are so many similar features! UPPAbaby and Baby Jogger are fantastic brands, and typically I would go with Baby Jogger, but in this instance, I can’t help but choose the UPPAbaby Cruz as my personal champion. I simply like the look of the Cruz better; that’s what it boils down to for me.
