Meet The Baby Cubby Bloggers: Valentina

The Baby Cubby is lucky to have a team of talented bloggers who are dedicated to creating a community that supports families of all types. In their posts, they share knowledge, advice, tips, and personal experiences on parenting, motherhood, relationships, and being a woman in the modern world--all in an effort to help readers feel seen, heard, understood, and supported in their own journeys.

We want to introduce you to the faces behind the posts, so today let's get to know a little bit about Valentina!

Valentina

What is your background?

I grew up in Northern California and spent my four years of high school active in all school things: sports, volunteer club, two years of yearbook (editor for one year), and all four years in journalism. I studied PR, mass communications, and advertising in college. I currently love working as a blogger at The Baby Cubby!

Tell us about your family:

I have three kids: a 6-year-old boy, 3-year-old girl, and an almost 1-year-old boy. I've been married to my husband for almost nine years now. He is truly my best friend and though my hands are always full, I love my little circus of a family!

Why do you like writing for the blog? And why you think it matters?

I've grown up in the age of influencers and content creators. When I was in high school and college, I loved reading blog posts about anything, especially fashion, cooking, crafting, and now that I'm a mom, I love to read about all things parenting.

I love that you can learn so much about so many topics from the internet, and I love that we can share our stories with each other online; you can truly build a connection with an author online as you learn from them, and also gain a sense of being seen and helped as well.

Stories need to be shared! Before the internet, it was more difficult to learn about things we had questions about, and find people to connect with. There are so many people who need need help and want someone to relate to or to help them with questions or problems they have, and I like that we can address those things with our posts. I think it's so important that people feel like they're not alone.

It's healthy and so good for us to really allow ourselves to learn, and it doesn't stop when we finish school, but continues as we grow up and become parents, and we need to be open to that.

What are some of your favorite things?

Food: I could honestly eat sushi every day! I love any kind of seafood (one perk of growing up in California was the fresh affordable seafood). I also love Asian food as well! Now I'm hungry haha!

TV Show: The Office, Friends, Outdoor Man, The Crown, Kim's Convenience

Movie: I love any chick flick, but also love movies about cooking.

Hobby: I don't think I have just one hobby! I'm a hobbyist--meaning I have too many of them. It can be scrapbooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, photography, planning themed events. I truly love trying new things.

Baby Cubby Brand: I have too many favorite brands and products, but my main ones are Angel Dear, Saranoni, Freshly Picked, JellyCat, and Made by Mary.

What do you think is the best part of motherhood?

The best part of motherhood is seeing how much it changes your life in such a beautiful way. I love seeing my love for each child grow and grow as I had each of them and as they are growing up. I love knowing that I'm their safety net for anything, and that they know I'm their biggest fan.

It's not easy by any means, but seeing my kids' faces and eyes light up with the love, happiness, and laughter they have in their life means more in ways I could describe and all so worth it.. It's knowing you would do absolutely ANYTHING for them. They are my reason for happiness and they make me a better person. I truly love all the brings with motherhood.
