September's National Days - 2020!

Everyone loves a reason to celebrate, use these fun days to make these last long days of September special.

September 5: Be Late for Something Day

I don’t know about you, but I certainly love the sounds of this- finally a day I have a legit excuse for being late! Take time to stop and smell the roses, enjoy the scenery, or spend an extra minute or two playing with your kiddos. Then happily show up late and proudly proclaim that it’s the best day to do so!

September 7: Labor Day

Labor Day was traditional created to recognize equality in the work force. We can use this long 3-day weekend to pay respect to those who have stood up for equal rights, safety, and compensation in the work place. Enjoy your extra days off work and school, and maybe go ahead and take that one last mini-vacation!

September 8: Ants on a Log Day

Nothing like good old-fashioned celery, peanut butter, and raisins. I’m a sucker for all things food-related, and this one definitely qualifies for the “healthy: I-can-eat-more” category! Ants on a log are some of our favorite afternoon snacks around here (but don’t tell anyone, we often substitute for mini chocolate chips instead)!

September 13: Kids take over the Kitchen Day

Every chance your child gets to be involved and help you in the kitchen is a perfect opportunity to help empower them and create memories. And let’s not forget the importance of them learning their way around and figuring out things on their own. So dust off your apron and get your broom ready, (there’s bound to be a mess to clean up) and let your little one’s imagination sore!

September 19: Talk like a Pirate Day

My 6-year-old daughter wanted to be a pirate for a few years, and somehow we always find ourselves celebrating this day for her. It’s a fun one, and if I’m on my game, I’ll pick up some chocolate gold coins and quickly throw together a treasure hunt. It’s never anything fancy, but shouting out some “args” and “ahoy mateys” sure makes things fun!

September 20: Pepperoni Pizza Day

Once again, it's all about the food for me, and pepperoni pizza is on the top of my list of food days to for sure celebrate! Whether you order out or make your own, having at least one meal on your weekly plan is always a good idea.

September 26: Family Health and Fitness Day

Get your family and little ones out and about today to celebrate health and fitness day. Use the last of the warm weather to go on a hike, or play some soccer together at the local park. Another way to celebrate would be to make a meal together. Kids learn best by example and teaching your kids to enjoy healthy foods will serve them for the rest of their lives.

Enjoy September by celebrating these fun days. The Baby Cubby is always here to help you make the best of your time with your young growing kiddos.
