Two to Kiss, Two to Love: Side-by-Side Twin Strollers

Two to Kiss, Two to Love: Side-by-Side Twin Strollers

When I was pregnant with my first daughter, my husband did all the stroller and car seat shopping. It overwhelmed me too much; there are a bajillion options, and I had no idea what I was looking for!  Thank heavens for my husband because it fascinated him. He knew what he wanted, and he was on a mission to find it. He wanted something that folded up small, something that had smooth steering, something that was safe, etc. Being a mechanic, it's really no surprise he was pretty picky.

He ending up choosing a City Mini. It is an AWESOME stroller. Whenever a friend pushes my stroller, they always tell me how easy it is to push and turn. Seriously, it's a great stroller. I also jogged with that stroller as well, so I didn't end up buying a stroller just for jogging.

When I found out I was pregnant with twins, I thought, "No problem. I'll get the City Mini Double." I loved my City Mini so much that I was sure it's double sister would be perfect. Until I learned the sad news: the double does NOT take two infant car seats. NOOOOOOOOOOOO!! I used my Britax infant car seat in my City Mini for so long with my singleton; it was so convenient, especially if she was sleeping. So, sadly, even though I really wanted a side-by-side double stroller, I gave up on the City Mini double and started researching other strollers.

In the end, I decided on the City Select, and also purchased a separate jogging stroller. I was so bummed to have to get two strollers, but I was not going to give up running. Side note: If you are looking to purchase the City Select, take a look at the City Select LUX. I wish that was out when I bought my City Select.

At that time, I was not aware of ANY side-by-side strollers that took two infant car seats. But, my friend is currently pregnant with twins and has informed me that there are TWO she found that take TWO infant car seats. So, if you have your heart set on a side-by-side double stroller (maybe you only want one stroller for everyday errands and for jogging), you are in luck!! Enter the Bumbleride Indie Twin and the Mountain Buggy Duet!

Both strollers take two infant car seats!! Just make sure to check the particular brands that they allow on their strollers, and make sure to buy the correct adapters for your particular car seat. With our singleton, my husband picked the stroller first, and then picked the car seat from the list of car seats that worked with the stroller. I strongly advise doing that.

Both strollers are super narrow, allowing them to move freely through most door openings. The Bumbleride comes in at 30 inches wide, and the Mountain Buggy at 25 inches.  They both include one-step folds and are extremely easy to push.

The Bumbleride has air-filled tires, so it comes with a pump. The basket underneath even has storage for the included pump so you always have it with you. The seats recline, and the footrests and handlebar adjust where you need them--making it fit you the way you need it to!

One of my favorite features is the ability for the stroller to stand while it is folded. That is so unbelievably convenient when you're juggling TWO babies.

As far as the Mountain buggy, I love that it has a hand-operated control brake for slowing down. While you're out there jogging, you can be confident that you can control the stroller in any situation.

So if you're in search of an awesome side-by-side double for twins, there you have it! Get out there and jog, or just take both kids through the mall without having to carry them. You can do it all with these two awesome strollers!
