2018 UPPAbaby VISTA Review: New Upgrades and What We Love
When it comes to some of the larger, more expensive, and most-used baby items like a stroller, it can sometimes be a bit overwhelming to sort through all of the options (there are so many amazing strollers out there) and make the perfect choice for your baby and for your family! A really nice stroller can be quite an investment, so you'll probably want to find one that will grow with your baby! And if you're planning to have more than one baby, you'll also want a stroller that can grow with your family as it grows. The UPPAbaby VISTA stroller has been a fan-favorite for years because it is so high-quality, versatile, and just simply gorgeous. We didn't think there was much to improve, but we love these new upgrades!
With the new 2018 UPPAbaby VISTA stroller, you'll find that the belly bar and handlebar are both full-grain leather, making them more durable and so, so pretty. Speaking of the handlebar, I love that it is a telescoping handlebar because it not only makes the handlebar taller, but it also adds more room between the frame and the handlebar. The frame is now carbon-coated, which will make it more scratch-resistant (one of the top complaints about the previous UPPAbaby Vista stroller). And the front and rear tires now match, giving the entire stroller a more sleek look. You'll also notice that they've improved the included bassinet, making it 1/2 inch wider and 2 1/2 inches longer, so your baby will fit in it for a few more weeks or months. It's important to note that the larger bassinet doesn't impact double configurations, so you can still use the bassinet and toddler seat at the same time. I also love all of the gorgeous colors the 2018 UPPAbaby VISTA stroller is available in.
What We Love
One of the best features of the 2018 UPPAbaby VISTA stroller is the fact that it stands when it's folded, and it's so easy to do! You simply lock the brake, then pull up on the tabs on the sides of the frames. I especially love that they've included two tabs on the top of the handlebar, so the stroller can rest on these tabs when it's folded, protecting the handlebar! So nothing touches the ground, and your stroller will stay clean! I also love that you can fold your stroller with two toddler seats and the PiggyBack board attached.
The SPF 50+ canopy is already pretty large, but it also includes an extendable sun shade that provides even more coverage without adding a lot of extra bulk. So it's there only if you need it! I also love that the peek-a-boo window is made of mesh instead of plastic (less glare so you can see your baby in any weather) and that the closures are made of magnets instead of velcro (so opening and closing it won't wake your sleeping baby). The canopy is also adjustable vertically, giving taller children a couple extra inches of headroom. Another thing that sets the 2018 UPPAbaby VISTA stroller apart is the fact that the harness is easy to adjust. You simply pull the tab through and slip the d-ring into it! (Watch the video above to see how this is done.) This is amazing because, on most strollers, you have to pull the harness straps through the back in order to adjust the height. And it's such a hassle to fish around on the back of the stroller just to add an inch or two of extra height to the harness.
This is a modular stroller, meaning you can turn the toddler seat rear facing or forward facing, or you can attach an infant car seat, PiggyBack board, or the included bassinet. There are actually more than 20 different configurations you can choose from, but you might need to purchase an extra set of upper adapters or lower adapters for some of the configurations. The 2018 UPPAbaby VISTA stroller also has an adjustable leg rest and a simple one-handed multi-position recline. It's also really nice that the belly bar opens with a swing away motion and is completely out of the way, so it's easier for toddlers to climb in.
The 2018 UPPAbaby VISTA stroller has excellent maneuverability! The front wheels—which lock for use on more difficult terrain—are smaller than the rear wheels. They are also foam-filled instead of air-filled, so you don't have to carry an air pump. We especially love the tap-on, tap-off brake, because it's easy to lock and unlock the brake by simply tapping it with your toe.
Another really nice feature of the 2018 UPPAbaby VISTA stroller is the extra large packing capacity. The storage basket is so large that you can even fit a large diaper bag in it! It's also very easy to access because the back side bends down and you can access it from the front of the stroller. I also love that there is a water bottle pocket and another pocket for smaller things on the inside of the basket. And there's also a zipper pocket on the back of the canopy for things you want to keep safe but also easily accessible.
What's IncludedThe 2018 UPPAbaby VISTA stroller has more included accessories than your average stroller, so as soon as it's out of the box, you'll be ready for almost any adventure! It includes the frame, the toddler seat, the bassinet (this is so nice because it's best for your newborn to lay flat on his back until his neck muscles develop), a rain shield, and a bug net.
There are a few additional accessories you can purchase for your 2018 UPPAbaby VISTA stroller. This includes the rumble seat, PiggyBack board, TravelSafe travel bag, infant SnugSeat insert, and the parent organizer. The UPPAbaby VISTA stroller is also compatible with a variety of car seats, including the UPPAbaby MESA (no adapter needed), Chicco Keyfit, Cybex Aton, Maxi-Cosi Max 30, and Nuna PIPA car seats. Visit our website for a complete list of compatible car seats and information on the adapters you'll need to purchase to make your car seat compatible with the UPPAbaby VISTA stroller.
