Our family is transitioning from traveling to our parents' houses and spending Christmas with our families to staying home and working on our own traditions! But we've got ourselves a big problem: my husband grew up opening all presents on Christmas Eve before bed, and my family opened all our gifts on Christmas morning. So how do we make both of those incredible childhood memories work for us and our kids...?
Our solution? DO BOTH.
In order for my husband and I to both enjoy the tradition of opening gifts the way we did growing up, we decided to open up two gifts on Christmas Eve, and the rest on Christmas morning. But we don't just open any gifts on Christmas Eve... We open up a movie to watch together, and everyone opens up their CHRISTMAS JAMMIES!
It's a super popular and incredibly adorable tradition for a lot of families and our house has fully embraced it during Christmas! I love picking out pajamas for everyone to wear! Seeing my kids cuddled up on the couch together on Christmas Eve eating popcorn, and then waking up and racing to the tree on Christmas morning in the SAME jammies is almost too much for my mama heart to handle. Plus, my husband looks adorable in buffalo check, so we all win!
