Meet Jacque: The Beauty Behind the Store

Meet Jacque: The Beauty Behind the Store

I'm so excited for you to get to meet the woman behind The Baby Cubby - Jacque Muir! She is amazing and definitely a woman of influence! You will never meet a kinder, more down-to-earth woman as Jacque!

Jacque grew up in San Diego for most of her life, but also had the opportunity to live in Japan for 3 years! Although she lived in San Diego and loves the ocean and the beach she is "not good at swimming or surfing at all." But, from living in Japan and other amazing places, she loves to travel and experience new things all of the time!

Jacque was a tom-boy growing up and never wanted to play with dolls, dresses, or anything pink. Often you could find her wearing basketball shorts and sporting a bowl hair cut (hard to picture now due to her gorgeous long hair and always on-point style!). She loved playing soccer and lacrosse and doing anything that was dangerous or daring. Nowadays she still loves being outdoors, especially when it comes to exploring everything that mother nature has to offer.

Jacque is a mother of 4 of the cutest kids I know! 3 girls and 1 boy. She adores and cherishes her role as a mother and a wife because her family is absolutely everything to her. This passion translates into everything she does.

Jacque graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Photography, and loves shooting Film (medium format and large format), "I didn’t care too much for the darkroom though, so I absolutely appreciate Photoshop." She not only is the owner of The Baby Cubby, but is also our resident photographer! She produces gorgeous photos with a keen eye for design and style.

Another passion of Jacque's is cooking and learning new techniques and recipes (and loves watching the food network channel). She mainly likes to cook healthy and delicious meals for her family, often sneaking in as many veggies in her meals as possible without mutiny from her kids. Some of her favorite kinds of food are veggie shakes, Thai food, Indian food, and occasionally Chick-Fil-A. Local restaurant favorites include The Communal and Oteo. The food she hates? Celery.

Holidays and decking her house out in the best decorations is one of Jacque's favorite things. She has a special fondness for Halloween and Christmas. She cannot wait till her kids are older and she can play pranks on them during Halloween time. As for Christmas Jacque says, "I do think Christmas can get crazy and too hectic for my liking, but the birth of my Savior and the opportunity we have to celebrate him is one of my favorite times."

Now for the fun part! I asked Jacque some questions that I thought would be fun to know about her:

What celebrity would you want to be BFF's with?

Well, I don’t know much about their personal lives, but Jennifer Lawrence seems pretty legit.  And Anne Hathaway has amazed me in all her roles.

Favorite musicians?

I’m not too picky, but my dad did raise me on his eclectic taste of music.  So from the past I love Simon and Garfunkel and Queen.  I also really like Jason Mraz, Nickel Creek, Mumford and Sons, and Ed Sheeran (all the edited versions of course).

Any Pet Peeves?

Ummm…dirty dishes?  I can’t handle a dirty sink for long.  And complaining.  My kids can tell you, I really don’t like complaining.

Any weird habits?

Well, I’m pretty normal, no, but any really annoying habits I had my family made sure to break them for me :) I used to stab my salads with a fork, apparently that’s not normal. And apparently when I laugh unexpectedly I cackle (according to my husband, Cameron).

Jacque is the beauty behind the Baby Cubby. All of the wonderful and adorable little details you find in our store are pretty much all Jacque's ideas! She is also one of the best moms I know.  I have never met a more caring mother who can tackle it all! She takes multi-tasking to a whole new level with her four kids, working out, and helping with designs and setups at the store. If I had to describe her I would say she is creative, down to earth, and witty. She is one of the greatest women I have had the honor to work for! Love you, Jacque!
