Anyone else so over all the bells and whistles and always chasing the newest thing for our kids' toys? When you see a blast from the past in the toy aisle do you say, "I used to love that as a kid!" Ever wish you could just show your babes the simple sweet toys we played with and LOVED as littles?
Well Schylling is here to hook you up with the old school toys that will fulfill your throwback dreams every time your kids pull them out!
Here's a couple of my faves that hit me right in the face with nostalgia and memories:
I cannot tell you the amount of time that I spent up at our kitchen table dressing and redressing my paper dolls. These were the ultimate fix for a little girl who loved styling dolls without needing to actually have the 3D dolls/clothes. This kit comes with a pad of paper and some colors so your little can use their creativity to make their own designs come to life and dress up their little dolls. They are also great for teaching tools--showing our babes what things to put on first, and what clothes are right for the season.
If the sight of this Lite Brite doesn't immediately give you butterflies and make you want to pop in those little beads to make a butterfly, I'm not sure we would get along. These were the BEST growing up. You can make any design you want, spell things out, or follow the patterns to make fun faces like this clown. My siblings and I also used to use these to play games like tic-tac-toe. Probably not the best toy for your little babes who are determined to put everything into their mouth, but for bigger kids this thing is the FUNNEST TOY EVER. And the best part is? It makes no. noise. Now I understand why we always had these growing up. Smart mama move.
Just seeing the color of these little records takes me back! This record player was so well loved in our home growing up. Five discs, ten songs, and tons of dancing and this thing has already paid for itself. It is simple enough that even your little kids can pop on a record and play it without any remotes, buttons, or screens. I cannot believe I have lived this long with kids without having this, because it reminds me of the house I grew up in and the memories are flooding in!
I was a ballerina (before I got a little too tall to comfortably fit in leotards) when I was little, and I had an almost identical music box. The pink box. The spinning ballerina. The velvet inside. The mirror and even the little clasp. This is just bringing back so many feels. I kept all my favorite little knick knacks in my box, and turned the key as far as it could go to get as much music as possible before bed. This is the most perfect gift for the little girls in your life, and I can promise you she will remember the sound of that song even when she has her own little girls.
