Stroller Comparison: Nuna DEMI Grow. vs. UPPAbaby VISTA

Stroller Comparison: Nuna DEMI Grow. vs. UPPAbaby VISTA

The new 2018 Nuna DEMI Grow and UPPAbaby VISTA strollers both have a long list of luxurious features as well as a variety of configurations and the ability to adjust them to fit a variety of needs. But with two amazing strollers, it's sometimes hard to decide which stroller is best for YOU. So let's look a little closer at each stroller.

Nuna DEMI Grow Stroller               UPPAbaby VISTA Stroller

Nuna DEMI Grow Stroller                                        UPPAbaby VISTA Stroller

Both strollers have a nice-sized, extendable canopy. The UPPAbaby VISTA stroller has an extendable sun shade that is tucked inside the canopy, and the dream canopy on the Nuna DEMI Grow stroller unzips and extends. They also both have generous storage baskets. The storage basket on the Nuna DEMI Grow is nice and big, but it's a bit harder to access when the second seat is attached and your child's feet will also take up a bit of the space. We love that the storage basket on the UPPAbaby VISTA stroller is super easy to access because it comes out a bit from the back of the stroller.

Both strollers also have telescoping and adjustable handlebars, so when the handlebar extends, the height and leg space also increase to accommodate both short and tall parents. To extend the handlebar on the UPPAbaby VISTA stroller, you simply squeeze the button in the middle and pull it out. And to extend the handlebar on the Nuna DEMI Grow stroller, you squeeze the buttons on both sides of the handlebar and pull up. The UPPAbaby VISTA stroller and the Nuna DEMI Grow stroller both have foot brakes. To set the brake on the Nuna DEMI Grow stroller you simply push down with your toe, and to release it, you lift up with your toe. The brake on the UPPAbaby VISTA stroller is a tap-on, tap-off brake which means you simply tap it to set the brake and tap it again to release it. This is really nice because it's easy to set and release this brake, no matter what shoes you are wearing.

What's Included

The UPPAbaby VISTA stroller includes the frame, toddler seat, belly bar, rain shield, bug net, and a bassinet. I love that they include the bassinet because it's best for your newborn to lay flat for the first few months. The Nuna DEMI Grow stroller includes the frame, toddler seat, belly bar, rain shield, and two sets of adapters. This is unique because you can immediately attach two car seats to the stroller, which is great if you're having twins! A second toddler seat or rumble seat isn't included with either stroller, but you can purchase the second seats for both strollers (Nuna DEMI Grow Second Seat and UPPAbaby VISTA Rumble Seat) separately.

The Configurations

Both strollers can accommodate two car seats, two bassinets, and two toddler seats, and both strollers have twenty possible configurations! The UPPAbaby VISTA stroller has a little more growing capability because you can purchase the UPPAbaby Piggyback Board for VISTA, but the Nuna DEMI Grow stroller is a little bit more compact.

With the UPPAbaby VISTA stroller, the second toddler seat goes on the front, so both children are easily accessible. The front seat can also be rear or forward facing which is nice, but it does make the stroller a little bit longer overall. However, even with the additional length, this stroller is still extremely easy to maneuver. The second seat for the Nuna DEMI Grow stroller attaches behind and slightly below the main seat. This is nice because an older child can simply climb into the seat by themselves. But you do lose a little bit of the basket space because the child's feet will need to be in there. Even with your kiddos' feet taking up some of the space in the basket, you'll still have room for a diaper bag, a few blankets, or anything else you might need to stow there. When the second seat is behind and slightly below the other seat, a lot of parents worry that their child won't like it because they can't see out. But a lot of kids actually love this space because it's so cozy.

It is important to note that adapters are included with the Nuna DEMI Grow stroller, but they are not included with the UPPAbaby VISTA stroller. So, in order to be able to use all twenty configurations for this stroller, you will need to buy the additional upper adapters and lower adapters, depending on which configurations you want to use.

Car Seat Compatibility

You don't need to purchase additional adapters if you want to use the UPPAbaby MESA car seat with the UPPAbaby VISTA stroller. It is also very easy to take the car seat off the stroller with one hand by pushing the button on the handle of the car seat. UPPAbaby also offers adapters for several other brands of car seats, including the Chicco Keyfit, Cybex Aton, Maxi-Cosi Max 30, and Nuna PIPA car seats.

The Nuna DEMI Grow stroller includes adapters to attach two Nuna PIPA car seats, which is great if you're having twins! To take the car seat off of the stroller, you squeeze the buttons at the base of the car seat handle. Or to make it even easier, you can purchase the Nuna Mixx2 Ring Adapter for Pipa Car Seat. With this adapter, you simply pull the lever on the back of your car seat for a quick and easy one-handed release.

The Seats

Both toddler seats on the Nuna DEMI Grow stroller have a weight capacity of 50 pounds and are identical and interchangeable, and they can also be used for newborn babies. WIth the UPPAbaby VISTA stroller, the toddler seat has a weight capacity of 50 pounds, but the additional rumble seat has a weight capacity of 35 pounds. So your smaller child will always have to sit in the front seat. You also have to wait until your baby is approximately three months old before they can use the toddler seat, but the UPPAbaby VISTA stroller has an included bassinet that is perfect for a newborn baby.

One of my favorite features on the Nuna DEMI Grow stroller is the all-season seat! I can't even count the number of times I've been worried about my little boy getting too hot when he's riding in his stroller, and I love that Nuna has solved this problem! If you remove the padding from the toddler seat, you'll find that there is a mesh seat that allows more airflow and keeps your child much cooler when it's warm outside!

Folding and Maneuverability

The UPPAbaby VISTA stroller can be folded with both seats AND the Piggyback Board attached, which is so, so nice! When folding the Nuna DEMI Grow stroller, you have to remove the second seat, but luckily it's easy to remove. I love that both strollers stand when folded and have tabs on the handlebars to keep them off the ground so the handlebars don't get scuffed or dirty. They are similar in size when they are folded, and both strollers auto lock and are very easy to unlock when you need to unfold them again.

Even though the UPPAbaby VISTA stroller is a bit longer than the Nuna DEMI Grow stroller, they have similar maneuverability. Both strollers have large, rear, foam-filled tires and a smaller front wheel. They aren't ideal for all terrains, but they do well on grass, gravel, and bark because they both have suspension.

The UPPAbaby VISTA stroller retails for $899 and the Nuna DEMI Grow stroller retails for $799. Watch the video below to learn more about the new 2018 UPPAbaby VISTA and the Nuna DEMI Grow strollers, and decide which stroller is best for your family!
